Go directly to www.mortgagequestions.com, or use the link from the loans menu.  In order to enroll, you will need your loan number with PHH.  If you do not have your number, please contact the MECECU loan department.

2. What is today’s current fixed rate mortgage interest rate?
Unfortunately, since our fixed rates change on a daily basis, you must contact a MECECU loan officer to get an updated rate.  MECECU loan officers can quote interest rates via e-mail at mececu@mececu.com or telephone at 573-634-2595.

3. I am looking to purchase an older vehicle.  Can MECECU finance a vehicle that is more than 10 years old?
MECECU does not have an age limit on our vehicle, boat, motorcycle, or recreation vehicle financing as long as a NADA value can be determined.

4. Will I be charged a prepayment penalty on any type of loan?
MECECU does not charge a prepayment penalty on any type of loan.

Normally a loan can be approved in the same business day or the following business day.  This depends on the time of day we receive the application or request.

8. How can I check the balance and transactions on my visa card?
You may go to our web-site at www.mececu.com and click on “My CU Visa”.  You will have to enroll into the on-line program, once enrolled you may view your account history as well as make payments on-line.

9. What does MECECU use to determine the value of a vehicle for an auto loan?
The Credit Union uses the NADA vehicle value guide.  We have a link to this site on our web-site under the “Loans” tab or you may visit the site directly at www.nada.com.  We work off of the clean retail value of the NADA values in most instances.

10. What is MECECU’s student lender number?
The lending code is 834352.  Please give this number to the Financial Aid office at your school to have your loan originate with MECE Credit Union.

11. Why can’t I use my debit card when I have funds in savings to cover it?
Unlike when you write a check, when using your debit card for debit transactions it will only look at the balance in your checking account.  Therefore, it  will not pull funds automatically from savings if there is not enough to cover the purchase in your checking.

12. What is the transaction limit amount for cash withdrawals from an ATM in a day?
MECE Credit Union has a default limit of $500.00 per day on ATM cash withdrawals. Other financial institutions may have lower default limits set on their ATM machines. To receive the full $500.00 you may have to visit multiple machines.

13. Is there a number of debit transactions that I may make on my card in a day?
No. As long as funds are available in your checking account there is no limit to the number of transactions you may make using your debit card.

14. Why am I limited to ACH transfers of less than $10,000.00 on my Internet Account Access?
Security and regulations only allow up to $10,000.00 for on-line ACH transfers. If you are transferring $10,000.00 or more you will need to contact the Credit Union at 573-634-2595 and have a Member Service representative process your request.

15. May I open an IRA if I am a joint member on an account?

16. How do I replace my debit card if it is broken?

Regulations require credit unions to now have all address changes submitted in writing with your signature included. You may submit your address change on an MECE Credit Union Member Service Request Form which is located on our website under "Forms" on the "E-Services" tab.  If submitting your request in another fashion please be sure to include your hand-written signature on the request. You may look up ATMs in your area by going to our website:  www.mececu.com.  Click on “E-Services” and then on “ATM Locator”.  You may then select which network you wish to search (Coop Network & Money-Pass Network), the town, and the surrounding mile radius in which you are looking for fee free ATM's.

19. What is the difference between an ACH Electronic Transfer and a wire?
An ACH is a free electronic transfer of funds between financial institutions with the funds being deposited into your account the next business day.  A wire is an electronic transfer of funds between institutions the same business day. Wire transfers must be submitted to the Credit Union before 3:00 p.m. to guarantee same day transfer. Wires have an $8.00 charge to send from MECE Credit Union. The financial institution your are sending funds to may charge a receiving fee for wires.

20. What do I do if I want to add or remove a joint owner on my account?
A Member Service Request Form will need to be completed and returned to the Credit Union. This form is located on our web-site under "Forms" on the "E-Services" tab. Signatures of all the account owners (primary and joints) are required when adding or removing owners on an account. It is important that all owners, including the joint owner being removed, sign the “Authorization” section on the front of the form. In cases of divorce, the form must also be notarized.
